28+ YEARS OF SERVICE

Our History

Serve Zambia Foundation, formerly Mpatamatu Home Based Care, was founded in 1997 by Rev. Andrew and Patricia Kayekesi. What began as a small volunteer initiative has grown into a nationwide mission—training over 418 volunteers, mobilizing churches, and reaching thousands with holistic care. Our mission is simple yet powerful: to serve God by serving His people through healthcare, education, empowerment, and discipleship.

Over the years, Serve Zambia Foundation has successfully implemented programs that have positively impacted communities. The established Christian community care projects in these communities continue to provide holistic support to orphans and terminally ill individuals. This is achieved through partnerships with churches, the District AIDS Task Force, the District Health Office, Luanshya Municipal Council, and other stakeholders.

OUR VISION

Healthy communities that have the best treatment and preventative care practice, enabled through the local church

OUR MISSION

We Work Together To Transform Communities

Serve Zambia trains providers: church leaders, community members, and government agencies in effective health care strategies that contribute to the holistic well-being of the CHURCH and the people in the communities around.

What We Do

We work through the church as a catalyst for community transformation—empowering people through home-based care, life skills training, community schools, technical education, and improved farming practices. By mobilizing churches and equipping leaders in areas such as leadership development, financial stewardship, small and medium enterprises, micro-financing through savings ministries, and health and wellness, we are not only meeting immediate needs but also building sustainable solutions that impact lives for generations.
